Back up first
Removable-SSD MacBooks keep your files. Soldered-SSD MacBooks are restored fresh. Either way, keep your own backup.

Every SSD upgrade carries a 1-year warranty. If we can’t do it, you pay nothing.
Can my MacBook’s SSD be upgraded?
Removable SSD: simplest
MacBook Air 2010 to 2017, MacBook Pro Retina 2012 to 2015 and the 2016 to 2017 13″ without Touch Bar (A1708) use a removable SSD. We swap it and move your files across.
2.5″ drive bay
The MacBook Pro 13″ and 15″ 2010 to 2012 take a standard 2.5″ SSD. The biggest speed boost an old MacBook can get.
Soldered with T2 (2018–2020)
MacBook Air 2018 to 2020 and MacBook Pro 2018 to 2020 have storage soldered to the board and locked to the T2 chip. MacBook Pro models are case by case, so we check the board first.
M1 to M5
The storage is soldered to the logicboard. We replace it with larger chips and restore macOS with Apple’s tools. Up to 2TB.
Not offered
The MacBook Pro 13″ and 15″ with Touch Bar from 2016 to 2017 (A1706, A1707). Their soldered storage can’t be upgraded reliably.

Questions people ask
How much does a MacBook SSD upgrade cost in Malaysia?
At KissMyMac it starts from RM550. MacBook Air 2010 to 2017 is from RM550, MacBook Pro 2010 to 2015 from RM650, the 2016 to 2017 MacBook Pro 13″ without Touch Bar from RM750, MacBook Air 2018 to 2020 from RM900, MacBook Pro 2018 to 2020 from RM950, M1 MacBook Air from RM950, M2 to M5 MacBook Air and the 13″ M1 and M2 MacBook Pro from RM1,200, MacBook Pro 14″ M1 to M5 from RM1,400 and MacBook Pro 16″ M1 to M5 from RM1,600.
Can you upgrade the SSD on an M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5 MacBook?
Yes. The storage is soldered to the logicboard, so we replace it with larger chips and restore macOS with Apple’s tools. Up to 2TB. The drive is erased, so back up first.
What is the biggest SSD my MacBook can take?
Up to 1TB on Intel MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and up to 2TB on M1 to M5 MacBooks.
Will I lose my files?
On MacBooks with a removable SSD we copy macOS, your apps and your files across. On soldered-SSD MacBooks (2018 to 2020 Intel and M1 to M5) the new storage starts empty, so back up first and restore after. Keep your own backup either way.
How long does a MacBook SSD upgrade take?
Usually 2 to 3 days. We tell you the exact time after the free check.
Can you upgrade the SSD on a 2018 to 2020 MacBook Pro?
Often, from RM950, up to 1TB. The storage is soldered and locked to the T2 chip, so it’s case by case and we check the board before we confirm.
Can you upgrade the SSD on a 2016 to 2017 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar?
No, we don’t offer it on the A1706 and A1707. The 13″ without Touch Bar (A1708) has a removable SSD and can be upgraded from RM750.
Will an SSD make my old MacBook faster?
Yes, especially a 2010 to 2012 MacBook Pro with a hard drive. It starts in seconds instead of minutes and apps open much faster.
My MacBook shows a folder with a question mark. Is it the SSD?
It can’t find its startup disk. Usually the drive or its cable has failed. We test both for free, then replace or upgrade.
Can you upgrade the storage on a MacBook Neo?
The MacBook Neo comes with 256GB or 512GB soldered to the board. Whether it can be upgraded depends on the unit, so we check it first and quote after the free diagnosis.
My MacBook SSD is not detected or has failed. Can you fix it?
Often. On removable-SSD MacBooks we test the drive and its cable, then replace or upgrade the SSD. On soldered SSDs it’s a board-level repair. If you need the files, tell us before we start.
Do you give a warranty on MacBook SSD upgrade?
Yes, 1 year on every SSD upgrade.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in to any branch. Bring your charger and your Apple ID password.
Berapa harga upgrade SSD MacBook?
Waranti 1 tahun.
Boleh upgrade SSD MacBook M1 atau M2?
